3 Things to Simplify to Grow Your Naturopathic Practice & Enjoy a More Balanced Life

For years I believed “The more I offer clients the more successful I will be” … what a big mistake.

The truth was – the more I offered clients the more work I had to do!

Sure, the clients loved it, but what they didn’t see was me working till 10 PM or 11 PM, getting up at 3:00 AM, eating lunch at my desk and  working weekends just to keep up with the demand, manage the team and meet the deadlines.

Great income for sure … but success? Not even close!

My belief is very different now and I ask myself these two questions every day:

  1. “How can I simplify my business, help my clients more and scale profitably?”
  2. “If I am not having fun, why am I doing it?”

I was talking to a client recently, an ND in our ND Achievers Club, and she was considering making a pretty large investment into a new piece of medical equipment to offer a new service to her already busy practice.

I asked her why? She explained that another doctor she knows and respects is already doing it and he highly recommends it and the income opportunity is excellent.

We continued the conversation and I learned that the other ND who has the equipment has a very “successful” practice … but he works all the time.

So I asked her to think about what’s important to her and she shared what’s most important to her is doing the stuff that she loves: Helping patients, having a great reputation for her practice and that she wants to create a more balanced life that will allow her to travel more with her family, spend more time at home and enjoy life while still making great income.

I advised her to keep doing what she is already doing and let’s leverage her knowledge, not to add more complexity to her practice.

Folks, your practice is already complex enough. We don’t need to add more complexity.

The secret to scaling your practice up, is to make things simple again.

There are three things you need to simplify, so you can multiply your Naturopathic practice:

  1. Your schedule. Know the things you want to hang on to, and the things you want to let go of. Do the stuff that you are good at and that you love and outsource the rest. (You probably suck at them any way … let someone else do what they love and are good at by outsourcing or delegating.
  2. Your services. Lead with one service that really delivers results to your patients. This is where you can look at a patient in the eye and confidently say, “This will give you the result you’re looking for.”
  3. Your marketing. One Target, One Problem, One Solution , One Offer and commit to the campaign for One Year. You want a simple step by step process to attract new patients. One traffic source that you can scale up, and a “Prospect to Patient” conversion process you can rely on.

Once you’ve got that, your practice (and your life) is about to be fun again!
